KT's PON+EOC is the mainstream of coaxial access technology, KT has put forward a comprehensive solution of PON+EOC for making full use of existing HFC network cooper cable resource, by combining technology of PON and EoC will greatly promote to use existing resource of HFC network, PON+EOC is combination of PON network as input side to EOC access network with PON network as input of data interface of EOC, Network infrastructure of PON+EOC as shown below:
PON+EOC solution mainly encompasses two networking strategies that in case of EPON deceiver the bandwidth of more than 1Gbps, where GPON deliver the bandwidth 2.5Gbps in downstream, at the transmission reaches up to distance of 20km, and other side the EOC bandwidth is 300Mbps at the deliver area, therefore the PON+EOC network can provide integrated services, including video and voice services that require high bandwidth.
